Heading to Tennessee!

Hello bow makers!  I just thought I'd give you all a heads-up that Craft-Dee BowZ will be at the big Stamp Escape event in Pigeon Forge, TN from April 21st through April 23rd.  This event is sponsored by Your Scrapbook Superstore in Sevierville, TN and their last event was so successful that they've made it even bigger with more teachers and classes.  I will be there teaching four classes over 4/22 and 4/23.  This will also include a sold-out Make & Take on Friday night.  We are going to have so much fun!  Here's a sample of one of my classes.   This one is called (appropriately) Tags, Tags, Tags!  You will learn a fun technique in this class and you'll be using lots of wonderful and some unexpected textures to complete these projects.  When is it you ask?  This particular class is being held on Friday, April 22 from 9am to 11am.  Space is limited, so be sure and sign up NOW!

If you are in the area, be sure and sign up right away as spaces are going fast!  I happen to know I have students coming from Ohio, TN and SC for some of my classes.  Go check the map -- see how close you are to this super event and make some reservations.  Here's the link for you to see what the event is all about at The Music Road Convention Center.

I hope to see you there!  I'll be posting some of my other classes shortly.

The Butterfly Fairy

Hi Everyone,
Barbara here with the last post from the design team for the month of March.
This month we've had Cute As A Button as our sponsor and
we have had the pleasure of using their images in our posts.

This month the designers were to use a fairy and
we also had paint chips to incorporate in our projects as well.

I chose Butterfly Fairy image and here she is on my card.

I had purple paint chips and decided to use them as a frame. I cut them to about 1" wide and taped them down on the pink panel. Next I mounted the fairy image on top of that frame.

I added vellum wings to give the fairy a 3-D effect and my bow is a double loop bow using satin ribbon.
I added flowers to the top left corner and
added the pink to the bouquet to make those flowers come alive.

For more inspiration,
please be sure to check out the other designers projects from earlier this month.
Just scroll down and check them out.

Don't forget, it's not to late to enter the March CDB challenge.
And the winner will receive 2 single digital images from our sponsor - Cute As A Button.
Click here to visit the Cute As A Button store and check out those cute digital images.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Fairy Sweet!

Hello, it's the fourth Tuesday of the month and my turn to post on the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog. Our challenge is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW. This month we have a sponsor, Cute As A Button, and I was given this beautiful image name Lagoon Fairy to use for my card. The Design Team also had a challenge to use the color purple and the item of paint chips on our projects. Paint chips are a wonderful addition to your supplies. The stock is heavier and are great to use when die cutting. So the next time you walk through a paint department, get a few and try them!

I colored my image with my new Polychromos Pencils and am delighted with the results of the pencils. I added some Cool Glitter Ritz to her wings, a bit of tan flocking to the cattails, and Glossy Accents to the water drops and water. The clear iridescent sequins, the purple and pink rhinestones are from my stash. And, do you see my paint chips?  I took 2 large ones, put them together so they were large enough for my card, and then mounted them on white paper. It almost makes it look like I have 4 separate pieces of purple for the background.

I used flowers from my favorite stores:  I Am Roses, Wild Orchid and byThita.

I'm so happy with the way my double looped satin bow came out, too. using my Craft-Dee BowZ bow Tool. I added an extra tail of a darker lavender to the bow. This bow was super easy to do, even adding the extra tail while using my bow tool. It frees up my hands so I don't have to hold so much and can do double and triple bows and add extra tails, with ease!

Our sponsor for this month is Cute As A Button who will award the winner of this challenge with 2 single digital images of your choice! Have you seen the images at Cute As A Button? I think they're wonderful and are definitely images you'll like, too!

I hope you've seen Vicki's and Tracey's cards this month...and if you haven't, please stop by the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge, scroll down, and take a peek at their posts. I know you won't regret the few moments it takes to see their projects. Remember that the challenge is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW

Sunflower fairy in lilac

Hi
It is Tracey here with my inspiration post for this months challenge .The DT this month as you know are featuring the  Cute As A Button sponsor images , fairies ,paint chip colour samples  and the colour purple in their inspiration pieces for you this month so I have made this cute card using all those elements...
The image I chose this month from  Cute As A Button  is the gorgeous image called "Sunflower fairy " you can find her Here
I love this image as although she is called a sunflower fairy you can see I have not coloured her in sunflower colours. I used promarkers to colour the image. adding an extra layer to her flower to give dimension.

The frame behind her is a paint chip cut using a sizzix die. I layered up the  lilac and white background using Sue Wilson square double pierced noble dies. The pretty flower effect in the left andright corners was achieved using tonic corner dies. The leaves are made using a joy crafts billie flourish die. The stamped sentiment is from Cardio. The flowers are from wild orchid .Challenges entered
The gorgeous bow was created using my Craft-deebowz. bow maker  and beautiful lilac ribbon from my MPP pack this month ...It created stunning bows each time and with no effort at all.

I hope you like my card and that you join us this month for the "Anything goes with a handmade bow" challenge at Craft-deebowz. . Pop over and see what the DT have created this month for your inspiration...you will be blown away by their creations
Happy crafting

And, here is my altered project...

I wanted to create something whimsical and what could be more whimsical than a fairy garden? This  altered wine glass purchased at the Dollar Store makes a great night light for our granddaughter!  The outside is covered with a decoupage technique of glue, tissue paper, and glitter.  The base, glued to a lovely, purple crocheted doily, is covered with a multitude of foliage die cuts, flowers and a butterfly made from paint chips.  A sprinkle of fairies and a beautiful bow, complete the fairy garden!

A closer look at the double loop, purple satin bow created with my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool.
