All You Need Is Love

Hi Craft-Dee BowZ fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a card that I created to help share my love with someone special. I use hearts all the time in my crafting, but really played up the love theme of this card.

I punched out and stamped different sized hearts onto a book page. I placed a piece of pink cardstock under my punched paper as a fun way to add color to my card.

I added a pretty double loop bow that I tied with my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections; Pin: Teresa Collins; Stamps: Paper Wings Productions; Ink: Ranger, Quick Quotes; Distress Marker: Ranger; Punch: Martha Stewart; Other: Book Page, Ribbon

Guest Designer Robin Parker - Sending Love

I am thrilled to be the Guest Designer for Craft-Dee Bowz!  It is a fabulous monthly challenge with great prizes to win!  I just love this wonderful bow maker that you can get from Craft-Dee BowZ.  It is the easiest and it creates gorgeous bows!  No craft room can go with out the bow maker (hurry and buy yours today, you won't regret it)!

I have created this card using a pre-colored image that my sister sent to me when I first started making cards.  My designer paper is from Hobby Lobby. To create my frame around my darling snowman I used "Opulent Ovals" by Spellbinders® Paperarts.  The bow is made with the bow maker and I even used eyelet trim, any ribbon/trim used with the Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker turns out stunning! My finishing touches are three pink heart buttons.

Rebecca ~ Feb. 18th post

Hello everyone~ So glad you could stop by!  Today I have a card to share that I made for Craft Dee BowZ.  I wanted the pleasure of making a vintage style card that could be used for many occasions~ Valentine's Day, an anniversary, wedding or engagement.  This one fits the bill...

RebeccaDeeprose vintage-1

I began with a vintage image from Pion Papers and then began digging through paper scraps and bits of lace. With some more time, I would have layered more textures and papers, but time puts a rein on me...not a bad thing actually!...

RebeccaDeeprose vintage-2

The edges of the photo were distressed and inked, then mounted on torn vellum.  Some scroll shaped appliqués had been cut from some deep bridal style trim and had been lingering in a drawer.  A piece of torn and painted cardboard was used as the base for them...

RebeccaDeeprose vintage-3

Working with 7/8" wide, white satin ribbon, I made two single bows on my Craft Dee BowZ tool.  This weight of satin ribbon didn't make a double bow that I was happy with, so instead I made two seperate singles and adhered them together.  It's often necessary to apply a little weight to the center of the bows as they dry to reduce the bulk.  A lead weight is my preferred tool!  Once dry, I glued a delicate, fabric flower over the center.  The results make me smile...

RebeccaDeeprose vintage-4

Machine stitching is used all around this card and on many of the components.  I love the mix of colors (whites through creams) of lace along with the changes in pattern sizes.  The panel of lace that flows over the diagonal pocket is the largest pattern I used.  The lower edges were fussy cut to show off the pretty flowers.  The diagonal edge is embellished with two different lace trim scraps...nothing pretty goes to waste around here ;)
Wishing you a wonderfully creative day...

((hugs)) and Blessings,
Rebecca

SNOW, is a four letter word...

that we in New England and many states across the US lately have learned to well, let's just say, dislike.  Since I am in the midst of a blizzard south of Boston right now, I thought I'd post this little guy that  my friend, Chris D, made for me.  Whoops!  I stand corrected -- it's a "she" because my friend Chris said "what man would ever be caught with a broom in his hand?".  So this little snow person is a "she".  Chris has been doing some needle felting these days and when she make this little snow girl, she knew she needed a broom, but what to make the broom out of?  Aha!  "I have a Craft-Dee BowZ and I know how to use it!" she said.  You guessed it, Chris made the broom using the tassel technique on the Craft-Dee BowZ.  I think it came out super adorable!  This snowgirl only stands about 2-1/2" high, so you can imagine how tiny the broom is.

I've included a side view and close-up of the broom below as well.

So just remember, Craft-Dee BowZ isn't just for tying bows.  Look how an adorable project like this turned into a PERFECT, adorable project!  Just thought I'd share -- and thanks, Chris!  I love it!

Always and Forever

Hi Everyone,
It's Barbara here with my regular monthly post for Craft-Dee BowZ.

Don't you just love February. This is the month we celebrate Valentine's Day, Groundhogs Day,( we are half way to spring), also its Presidents Day this month and I am sure there are more holidays this month that I'm just not remembering.

For this post I am going to focus on Valentines. Have you noticed the colors that seem to be used a lot on valentine cards are reds and pinks. Those are warm colors and with the winter we've had so far, we can take all the warmth we can get. LOL

One reminder, before I forget, it's time for the bi-monthly Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop, and it's this week!! The blog hop starts on Thursday, February 6, so mark your calendar because you will want to stop in and check out the hop and leave comments. Leaving comments will make you eligible to win your very own Craft-Dee BowZ  tool. The Craft-Dee BowZ tool really has made it easy for me to make beautiful bows for all my projects.Click here to order yours today. Or ask your sweetie to get one for you for Valentine's Day.

Here's my card, designed with a Valentine theme.

Thought you'd like a close-up of the bow

Those flowers above the bow started out as a self adhesive border. I cut the flowers apart and cut some pieces of wire and adhered a flower to the front and to the back of the wire. Also these started out as white and I sprayed them with a red spray.  I used my Craft-Dee BowZ  tool to make a simple and easy to make, single loop pink bow. The panel on my card is pink with white polka dots and the main card is red. So it looks like I too used pink and red on my card.

OK, now it's time to get your Valentine cards finished. Hope I've given you some inspiration today.

Thanks for stopping in and have a great week. And I hope to see you back here Thursday. There will be some beautiful inspiration projects and just in time for your last minute Valentine cards and projects.
